Business Data Collection with FORM MAPID

Business Data Collection with FORM MAPID

In today’s landscape, fast and accurate field data collection is crucial for effective decision-making—whether to assess market potential, record on-site team observations, or support outlet expansion strategies. With FORM MAPID, you can collect structured information from multiple locations, complete with geographic coordinates (geotagging).

In this tutorial, we will create a sample form for a sales market visit use case: starting from creating a data storage layer, designing questions in the Form Editor, sharing the form link with field teams, to viewing results that are automatically integrated into the GEO MAPID dashboard. At the end, you will also be introduced to how AI Data can be used to summarize and answer questions from survey data without reviewing each entry individually.

What will you learn in this video?

In this video, you will learn:

  • When to use FORM MAPID and example use cases (sales, marketing, outlet expansion)
  • How to create a dedicated layer for forms (mandatory point data type)
  • How to access the Form Editor via the pencil icon → Open Form Editor
  • How to configure the form layout (title, banner, visual elements)
  • How to add questions using various input types, such as:
    • text, selection, dropdown, checklist
    • numbers, sliders, currency
    • location (auto-generated administrative areas) to minimize human error
    • file uploads for photos or documentation
  • How to publish the form as public and share the link with respondents
  • How to view submitted form results automatically stored in the dashboard layer (map view + table)

Practice: “Sales Market Visit” Form + Auto-Generated Location

In this case study, you will create a Sales Market Visit layer to store observation results. You will then design a form containing information such as:

  • sales representative name
  • outlet name
  • city/district/sub-district (using the location feature for automation and reduced typos)
  • outlet type (e.g., supermarket/minimarket/market/restaurant/others)

When the form is opened in the field, respondents will first see the map to activate location services, ensuring that geographic coordinates are recorded based on the actual position.
